ABOUT THE INN
Here are line-dried cotton sheets, glowing pre-revolutionary hardwood floors, aperitifs by the fireplace in the winter, iced tea, lemonade and Prosecco in the garden when the weather is mild, fresh mountain breezes in the summer (and yes, air-conditioned rooms for those few nights when the mercury rises above your comfort zone).
There is wifi throughout the inn, but just out the back door walk up and over Baldwin Hill when you need to unplug. During your stay, enjoy homemade local food, eggs fresh from our backyard hens and the delicious artesian well water that inspired the name of our inn.
Whether you find us by accident on your road to somewhere or are returning with family or friends for a special weekend we are here waiting to welcome you for the first time or back again.
Located just 4 miles from the center of Great Barrington, in the historic village of North Egremont, our inn is early 19th century post and beam construction, where the glow of the wood floors, comfort of the hearth and tranquility of the surrounding rolling hills invites you to take a deep breath and enjoy.
Our Rooms, each with a private bath provides a soothing night’s sleep under luxurious Egyptian cotton sheets and feather comforters. All rooms are air-conditioned in the summer and our fireplace beckons you to settle in and enjoy your favorite hot toddy in the winter.
Wireless internet access for your laptop is available, or perhaps you may decide to sit down at the writing desk in the front room and partake in the great art of letter writing. It’s a short stroll across the road to the local post office.
