Here are line-dried cotton sheets, glowing pre-revolutionary hardwood floors, aperitifs by the fireplace in the winter, iced tea, lemonade and prosecco in the garden when the weather is mild, fresh mountain breezes in the summer (and yes, air-conditioned rooms for those few nights when the mercury rises above your comfort zone).  There is wifi throughout the inn but just out the back door walks up and over Baldwin Hill when you need to unplug, homemade local food, eggs fresh from our backyard hens and the delicious artesian well water that inspired the name of our inn.

Whether you find us by accident on your road to somewhere or are returning with  family or friends for a special weekend we are here waiting to welcome you for the first time or back again.

Something tells me we aren't in Massachusetts anymore...

We are thrilled about our exciting new venture in Tumbabiro, Ecuador. Just putting the finishing touches on the casitas, but here's a glimpse of the beautiful surroundings in our new home away from home. Very soon we will be able to offer you the same cozy charm of Sweetwater Farm, but with an Ecuadorian flair and delicious local foods! Check it out >>

How far are you from...?We are 5 minutes from the center of Great Barrington and Catamont, 15 minutes from Butternut, 20 minutes from Stockbridge and Tanglewood, 30 minutes Lenox and an hour from MASSMOCA.

Are you Picking up What We're Putting Down?

Andrei's Pick: Two Days, Two Mountains

Settle in for two nights at the inn Sunday through Thursday through the end of March and ski Catamount one day and Butternut the other day because variety, as we know, is the spice of life and who doesn't want a little extra spice in the winter months? Like things a little less spicy? We're good with both days at just one mountain. Either way we've got you covered - the lift tickets are on us! You know the skiing only, Monday through Thursday, blackout dates February 20th through 24th. Hello Kitty hat, optional.

Lynda's Pick: The Cook and The Book

The last weekend of January, February and March The Inn will host a fabulous cookbook writer. Guests get a signed copy of the book (courtesy of us) and Lynda cooks from it for a light buffet in front of the fireplace on Friday night while you get to meet the authors. We'll highlight recipes from the book at breakfast on Saturday and Sunday. The rest of the time it is rest and relaxation as usual. Enjoy some face time with the authors while you relax in the Berkshires and visit your favorite restaurants and hangouts (we have lots of suggestions)....and peruse the wall o'cookbooks at the about it here.

Call now to reserve your room at no additional charge for Cooking with the Muse with Myra Kornfeld and Stephen Massamilla, January 27th and 28th (two night minimum stay required).

Check out what you’ve been saying about us at Trip Advisor:

"I come here at least once a year, with friends to celebrate special occasions, by myself when I want to escape and recharge.  The land of sweet water (truly--better than any snooty french mineral water--bring your own containers to take some home) and homemade bread is a better soul cure than the land of milk and..."
